Crafted by Crockett & Jones exclusively for Robert Old, the ‘Holborn Lite’ takes a modern twist on the classic chukka boot for optimum wearer ease, comfort, and durability. The classic chukka boot style is reinvented with Vibram Gumlite soles to provide a lightweight alternative to other similar styles stocked by Crockett & Jones.
The Gumlite sole is ideal for our intended purpose of recreating the Holborn style, and perfect for a full day's wear thanks to the long durability and optimised cushioning across the sole. Without compromising on grip Gumlite aids the wearer and significantly reduces energy consumption - even more so in uphill walking.
The lightweight Chukka boot is constructed in Northampton, UK from Crockett’s pebble grain leather, a fine textured hide made from the finest leather. To ensure the Holborn survives a classic rain shower the sole features a beaded storm welt for added peace of mind. Complementing the leather boots construction is the excellent shape of the 238 Last - a square toe shape similar to the very popular Molton chukka.
