The Robert Old View
A classic button fronted cardigan, the Mallaig is made from a 4ply cashmere
Knitted using a super premium grade of 28s Scottish cashmere yarn, made from the finest under-hair of the Mongolian cashmere goat's coat.
This yarn seems almost unique on the market and plays an integral role in the continued success of the Robert Old cashmere collection.
More suited to the colder winter months, the Mallaig cardigan is exceptionally warm and hard wearing.
Ideal when worn as an extra layer either underneath a casual coat or over a shirt as an outer layer for a stroll in the countryside.

Fit & Sizing
Our sweater sizes correspond to your actual chest measurement. The garments are designed with a comfortable Classic Fit, allowing approximately 4 inches (10 cm) of ease through the chest for comfort and movement.
How to Measure Your Chest
Measure around the fullest part of your chest, just below the arms. Keep the tape level and comfortably snug, but not tight.
As a guide, if your chest measures 44 inches (112 cm), we would recommend a size 44. The finished garment will measure approximately 48 inches around the chest, providing the intended Classic Fit.
Prefer For a Tailored Fit?
If you prefer a neater, more tailored silhouette, you may wish to choose one size smaller than your usual chest size.
Top Tip: Measure a Sweater You Already Own
For the most reliable comparison:
- Lay a well-fitting sweater flat.
- Measure straight across the chest from armpit to armpit, without stretching the fabric.
- Double this measurement to find the garment’s full chest measurement.
