Mr Bond, We've Been Expecting You

The wait is over. Bond is back on our screens in the much-anticipated twenty-fifth spy epic ‘No Time to Die’.

In the movie, the secret agent’s sartorial prowess steals the show, whether suited and booted, ice-cool and casual or wearing the look most synonymous with Bond – a sharp suited tuxedo teamed with the ultimate accessory - a vodka martini (shaken not stirred of course).

Our style spies here at Robert Old have got a tip-off. We’re thrilled to see famous UK footwear manufacturer Crockett & Jones is again helping Mr Bond put his best foot forward.

Robert Old is a major stockist of this range of high-end crafted footwear and has been for over forty years. We’re proud to stock shoes worn in the latest Bond movie ‘No Time to Die’ as well as classic 007 styles from ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Spectre’ all designed by this official movie partner.

SCENE-STEALER SHOES

The timeless elegance of this beautiful shoe gives it a leading role in ‘No Time to Die’,

featuring in a number of important scenes. Everything about the Highbury radiates sophistication, perfect for the suavest of secret agents to step out from MI5 in style.

Made from the finest calf leather for maximum comfort and definitive style, it features Crocket and Jones signature ‘City’ rubber sole. Made by the UK’s Harborough Rubber Company, these soles are 90% rubber, combining light weight with sure-footedness.

As Bond effortlessly shows, Highbury is the perfect choice of shoe for formal occasions and will also complement a smart-casual look. Sometimes even super spies have no time to change their shoes!

The Molton boot makes it mark in ‘No Time to Die’ as the storyline takes James Bond to Norway (not a spoiler alert we promise!). It has the characteristics of our favourite double agent – stylish and resilient. This Chukka boot style is derived from British military design, where a sturdy boot can mean the difference between life and death and has been fashioned for over a century.

The Molton is made of dark brown rough-out suede and features the famous Dainite rubber studded-pattern soles, made by the Harborough Rubber Company for over 100 years.

While the Bond boot may be used on screen for some tough encounters, we recommend a more sedate use, teaming it with a dark pair of chinos for dressed-down days. Actor Daniel Craig wore his personal Crockett & Jones Molton boots at a Bond press call - think urban edgy.

It wouldn’t be a Bond movie without 007 having to put the boot in, quite literally. Another boot favoured by James is this tough yet stylish Islay boot. The boot got its moment in the spotlight during the final dramatic scenes of ‘Skyfall’. If ever you find yourself being hunted in the Scottish Highlands by a power-crazed narcissist, your life can depend upon being sure-footed!

This brogue Derby boot is extremely sturdy. It’s fully lined, with storm welts giving it extra water resistance. It features the robust, studded Dainite sole as well as militaristic-style lacing. A perfect choice for Commander Bond with its roots in army footwear for officers and commandos.

Another ‘Skyfall’ shoe star, the Tetbury chukka boot is handmade from the highest quality wax calf. It’s available in brown, black and also in brown suede. This no-nonsense boot is strong in style and durability. Ideal for quick changes from city life to country living.

One of the most sought-after styles of the men's main collection, the Crockett and Jones Tetbury in wax calf chukka boot is a traditionally crafted plain fronted lace-up men's boot. Made from the finest calf suede leather with a Goodyear welted Dainite rubber sole, the Tetbury boot is available in a dark brown or black.

Double agents are never off duty. This Alex shoe, featured in ‘Skyfall’ is a classic must-have, ready to be pulled out of a suitcase quicker than M can delete you from her files. Made of beautiful black calf leather, this whole-cut Oxford is formal footwear style that dates back over two hundred years and still has appeal for a modern-day double-agent.

TOP SECRET STYLING

When you’re busy saving the world from villains or charming secrets out of femme fatales, it’s hard to squeeze in time for shopping. To help out our super spy, we’ve done a bit of personal shopping, bringing together the 007 look from top to toe. We also highly recommend the accessories of an Aston Martin and a Vesper martini to complete the look.

Suit and sex appeal come together in teaming ‘No Time to Die’ star shoe Highbury with these exquisite trousers and jacket by Italian tailoring masters Ermenegildo Zegna. The grey check weave is subtle whilst the styling is contemporary and quietly authoritative. Complete the look with a blue-spotted silk tie, classic leather belt and classic car.

james bond molton outfit

The Molton is a firm favourite both here at Robert Old and with Bond himself (Daniel Craig has his own pair). This movie star of a shoe creates a strong look for outdoor pursuits, whether it be shoot-outs or train-roof riding. Also perfect for the more likely stomp to a country pub!

Our own brand Italian navy chinos look brilliant with this boot style. Exclusively made for us in Italy, a suede gilet offers warmth without the burden of a heavy coat. Combine with the zip-up style of a luxurious Scottish cashmere sweater to complement the neat lines of the gilet. Layering with a Swiss flanello 100% cotton shirt will keep you cool under pressure. And for disguise from the enemy and/or warmth, add a traditionally-styled fisherman’s hat in cashmere.

James Bond Islay Outfit

Match the toughness of the Islay boot with the soft and warm textures of a long-sleeved Cashmere polo sweater made from Scottish cashmere yarn. Blue is a favourite shade for this Bond so team with a cotton and cashmere blend shirt in this on-trend colour. Bond would also appreciate our beautiful Nubuck suede bomber-style jacket lined with premium wool to cope with the harshest of Highland winds. It’s made in Italy exclusively for Robert Old. Team this top half with jeans from Ermenegildo Zegna which offer a flattering fit to all of us, not just muscled MI5 men. The five pockets could also come in handy for all those life-saving gadgets from Q or, for us mere mortals, our phone and credit cards.

James Bond Chelsea Outfit

The solid style Chelsea 8 is the perfect shoe for creating a contemporary smart/casual look. Think Bond on a weekend jaunt to a manor house or mansion. This striking Prince of Wales check jacket has great attention to detail and is ideal as the weather gets colder. Combine the warmth of a 100% Merino wool sweater in charcoal with a black pure silk T-shirt to complement the monochrome jacket. Black slim-fit jeans streamline the look to create secret agent style.

James Bond Alex Outfit

It may only be moments before it’s blood-splattered or seductively removed by a Bond girl, but 007 dressed in a tuxedo is an iconic image in every Bond movie.

The formal lines of the Alex shoe in jet black is the perfect footwear for black-tie events.

Mr Bond would not look out of place in our Italian two-piece tuxedo, hand-tailored to the highest craftsmanship to create an exquisite fit. Add an Eton dress shirt for a modern and unfussy look. It’s also crease-free cotton – how to look stylish even after a brawl with the baddies! Almost as important as his martini, a beautiful black silk bow tie finishes this sophisticated look. It goes without saying that the tie looks just as good rakishly undone on Mr Bond.
